TU and KU Assignment Format: A Guide for Nepal Students

Tribhuvan University and Kathmandu University both mark format, and neither publishes one rule that fits every programme. This guide covers the structure most TU and KU assignments and reports follow, and what to check with your own department.

If you want a submission built to your department's format, Assignment Byte can write or reformat it from your guideline.

What we help with

Two reports, issued with every delivery

Every assignment ships with a similarity report and an AI-writing indicator read, so you can see exactly what a marker would see before you submit — not after.

Assignment Byte is an independent academic support service, not Turnitin, iThenticate or any university's own integrity office, and we do not control how a receiving institution reads either report. Read more on how similarity checks work, what an AI-writing indicator actually measures, and your institution's academic integrity policy before you submit anything.

A typical assignment structure

A semester assignment usually carries a front page, an introduction that states the purpose and scope, a body organised under numbered headings, a conclusion and a reference list. Keep headings meaningful and follow the order of the questions you were asked.

Project reports and theses add a declaration, supervisor certificate, acknowledgement, abstract, list of tables and figures, and separate chapters for introduction, literature review, methodology, results and conclusion. The exact set depends on the programme.

Common format mistakes

Using a thesis structure for a project report, or the reverse. Inconsistent heading numbering. Tables and figures without captions or without a mention in the text. In-text citations that do not appear in the reference list. A table of contents whose page numbers no longer match.

Check the department guideline against your document once before submission. It takes a few minutes and avoids avoidable deductions.

Where to get the right guideline

Ask your course teacher or supervisor for the current format document, and look at an accepted submission from a previous batch. Send either to us along with your brief if you want us to work to it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there one official TU assignment format?

Not for every programme. Faculties and campuses issue their own guidelines, so confirm the version your department uses before you format.

Which referencing style does TU use?

It varies by faculty and subject. APA is common in management and social science, but check your guideline.

Is the KU assignment format different?

KU departments usually specify report structure for labs and projects. Technical reports expect an aim, method, results and discussion, with working shown.

Can you format my assignment for me?

Yes. Send your draft and your department's guideline and we reformat the document to match it.
