Proofreading and editing are different services with different limits. Proofreading corrects grammar, spelling, punctuation and consistency. Editing goes further into clarity, sentence structure, paragraph flow and signposting. Neither writes new argument or adds sources, and most universities draw the permitted boundary at exactly that line.
We work within that boundary deliberately. Where a section is under-evidenced or the argument does not follow, we flag it in a comment so you can address it, rather than quietly writing it for you.
